Trauma-Infomed Parenting Class

This class takes a unique, relationship-based approach to parenting traumatized children and those with attachment challenges. This approach provides a trauma-infoed explanation of “acting out” behaviors. Caregeivers will lean how childen escalalte though behaviors, as well as how to respond to help their children during these times. When children and caregivers expand their ability to emotionally toleate stressful situation, behavior naturally improves. This class is appropriate for biological parents, adoptive parents, foster parents, and kinship-care providers.

When a child, teen, or young adult is struggling emotionally or socially, it can be stressful and confusing for them and their families. The Child, Adolescent, and Young Adult Connections (CAYAC) team offers a unique program that empowers and supports families in navigating the network of behavioral health services available to youth in Larimer County, while bridging gaps in care. CAYAC’s multidisciplinary team helps provide answers, options, and support to help families find care that meets their unique concerns. Our goal is to promote early identification and treatment of mental health concerns that affect a young person’s health, happiness, family, and school.
