CoParenting Solutions

A Level 2 (Advanced) Class

This ten-hour class is an intensive skill-building program completed in three sessions.   It is an advanced class for divorced or separated parents who have difficulty communicating and reaching agreements about their children.  The class emphasizes communication and problem-solving skills in a small group format. This class takes the information taught in Level 1 coparenting classes to the next level by teaching the communication skills that are known to lead to conflict resolution and mutual agreements. This class requires the attendance of both coparents.

Parents who complete the program will learn the skills that will enable them to:

  • Make polite requests and responses

  • De-escalate angry interactions

  • Take time-out from conflict

  • Use reflective listening

  • Commit to peaceful coparenting

  • Keep children out of the middle

  • Acknowledge each other's strengths

  • Interact with manners

  • Maintain a business-like relationship

  • How to parallel parent

Level 2 Coparenting classes may be court-ordered or voluntarily attended.

Coparents attend the same set of classes and practice communication exercises together in class.
